Farmers who have filed re-
oupsts and received approvals
for Federal Cost-Shares to com¬
plete practices in their farms
are reminded that all perman-
, v,* practices must be reported
by November 1, 1959 and all an-
v t . M cover must be reported by
November 30, 1959.
Any farmer who thinks he will
be unable to complete the pract¬
ices approved for his farm
Mould notify the ASC Office to
cancel his approval at once so
that the funds reclaimed may be
re-allocated to other farmers
who have filed requests for cost-
shares.
Farmers who have not recei-

ved their purchase orders should
call at the ASC Office and pick
them up, unless they plan to
purchase their own materials.
A few cotton marketing cards
are still on hand in the ASC
Office undelivered. Farmers who
'have cotton to gin and sell
should call for these cards be-
tfore hauling cotton to market.
A marketing card to identify the
cotton must be presented to
each cotton buyer.
There are still a few market¬
ing cotton penalties due on
overplanted cotton farms. Be-

Alton R. Ivey, son of Mrs. C.
L. Ivey of New Home, arrived in
the U. S. last week from the
Virgin Islands and plans a fur¬
lough at home in the near fut¬
ure. Ho is assigned to the engi¬
neering division of the Marines.
MRS. FLOR1A H1XON DIES
Mrs. Floria Hixon, 80, of Rt. 2,
Rising Fawn, died last Sunday
!ln a Chattanooga hosptal. The
Juneral was held at Lookout
Mountain Missionary Baptist
Church.
Surviving are two daughters,
Mrs. Mattie Scarbrough and Mis
Irene Neal; a brother, John W.
Hixon; three sisters, Mrs. Mollie
Cannon, Mrs. Josie Moore and
Mrs. Nancy Morton, all of Rising
Fawn.

James M .Allen, fireman ap¬
prentice, US.., son of Mr. and
Mrs. Henry T. Allen of Trenton,
Ga, reported to the Naval Air
Station, Barbers Point, Hawaii,
September 28.
Before entering the Navy in
June 1959, he graduated from
Dade County High School.
Steve Austin "Fine”
After More Surgery
Little Steve Austin, 5-year-old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Austin,
Rising Fawn, is reportedly
“doing fine” after undergoing
surgery on his right foot last
week.
Steve is at the Scottish Rite
Children’s Hospital In Decatur,
Ga.
La^t week’s surgery is part of
treatments to correct a deform¬
ity. His doctors contemplate
additional surgery during the
next five years.
Steve told his grandmother,
Mrs. B. B. Kenimer, as he left
to go to the hospital, “Now,
don’t worry about me. Just ask
everybody to send me a card.”
His new scrapbook for get-
well cards already has many
1 pages filed with cards he recei-
; ved last week.
