Pine slabs nailed vertically
side by side to form a small
square hut provided the admls-
sion booth. The same construe-
tion could be seen on two other
huts labeled “ladies” and
•gents”. The aroma of food
made you tilt your head upward
in order to fill your nostrils
with succulent smelling barbe-
cue and chilli. Hungry or not,
the saliva flowed and the gas-
trie juicies bubbled in everyone’s
stomach. All through the woods
one could see the clothelines
sagging with the weight of large
and small, oil, watereolor, char¬
coal and seed pictures. Some
were framed and some were not.
The artists of the earth were
displaying their talent; but the
Artist of Nature was also
playing her talent, one not
captivated by her gravitated
species. A ceramic orange and
tan teapot sat perched atop
shelf, the backdrop being a
hnllant yellow hickory tree.
Contrast was savoury; nature
(deserved the b'lue ribbon. A few
small trees appeared to be grow
ing rag dolls and colorful trin-
kets. Rough weather-beaten
benches were lined with canned
pickled okra, tomatoes, peaches,
pears, and people balancing
trays filled with barbecue, chilli,
baked beans, potato chips, home
made cakes and steaming hot
