Townsends Honored By Neighbors on
Their Silver
Hi!
Twenty-five years!
Well, it’s a wonderful feeling,
especially when you’ve got the
kind of friends and neighbors
to honor you as ours did. And
such a beautiful cake, an so
good. Mamie Durham decorated
it and she’s quite a whiz at it.....
I know for sure because she
baked Raymond and I a beauty
for our 25th Wedding Anniver¬
sary last Monday.
We were given a surprize re¬
ception and really enjoyed it.
Our neighbors dropped in to
chat and were served Coffee and
cake by a committee. Who even
washed the dishes. Wasn’t that
something? Joking aside though,
it is a wonderful feeling to be
remembered like that, and Ray-
mand and I really appreciated
the gesture.
The center of attraction in
Wildwood last Saturday was the
grading of the lot for the
Methodst parsonage. We had all
kinds of superintendents and
we tried to put them all to work.
We hope to start the actual
building right away.
J. R. Dantzler left the hills of
home this morning and flew via
military transport to France
where.he will serve as field re¬
presentative for Lockheed Air¬
craft Corp. He will be gone for
an indefinite time. His wife,
Lily, and the children will join
him if he finds that the climate
is suitable for little daughter,
Melanie could not stand the
California climate, but
breath a word to the California
Chamber of Commerce.
The Dantzler family had a
family reunion in Smyrna, Ga.
this past weekend. Ida and
Edwin went down from here,
and Maurine Skelley and family
came up from Augusta, and of
course, Joe and J. R. live
Smyrna.
Bea and Carolyn Ford
last weekend in Atlanta. Mr.
and Mrs. Herbert Porter
gone to California to spend the
winter. They drove through with
Mr. and Mrs. Milford Price.
Talent plans are

Ida Dantzler, Ethel Turner,
Fannie Lea and Martha Higdon
are planning to serve a Sunday
dinner at the Community
on Nov. first. Margerie
Elzada Tittle, and Sara Henry
are planning a chilie supper
the near future and Mamie Dur¬
ham is decorating and selling
cakes like mad.
So long till next week.
