These handbooks contain a list of the conservation practices on which cost-shares may be paid, a brief explantion of the use of each practice and the items of cost on which costs may be shared. The initial signup period for filing requests for cost-shares for 1960 practices opens Janu¬ ary 4, 1960 and closes at the end of business on January 29. Each farm operator is re¬ quested to study the conserva¬ tion practices in the list to be mailed him in relation to the conservation needs of his farm and try to decide on which practices cost-sharing is most needed. Also, each operator is urged to make use of any conservation plan he has developed for his farm. Anyone who decides he will need 1960 ACP cost-sharing is urged to file his request during the signup period. It is only in this way that he can be assured that his request will be con¬ sidered by the county commit¬ tee before funds are exhausted.
