Thursday night of last week a iH'gro broke a glass out of a win dow in the Sulphur Springs depot and took therefrom a bretch-load ing shot gun worth about $25, be !ong,ng to Joe White the agent at that place. The shot gun was pawned to the marshal at Rising Fawn for two dollars. On Friday Bob Thurman arrested the negro at this place and turned him over to Marshal Cooper who took him to Risii g Fawn where his trial came off and he was committed to jail. The negro says he “accidentally lea r ed against the window and broke it, saw the gun and reached in and got it ” The indifferent burglar will hoard with Sheriff Byrd until tne next term of Su perior court. In connection with this case we give below an illus tration ofthe manner in which are caught in this coun try. Eighteen hours after the burglar had been arrested the Chat fanooga Times said the Ris ing Faw i depot had been burglar ized of a SIOO shot gun and “sever al other valuable arfic'es,” and that “Sheriff By:d, of Dade coun ty tracked him to this city (Chat tanooga) but lias not yet captured him.” On Saturday'after the ne gro had been tried and committed to jail Marshal Cdoper received a telegram from the marshal of Ft. Pavne stating that he had his man in jail and to come and get him. From Rising Fawn. On Friday evening, the 16 inst. ths hospitable home of Dr. ami Mrs. A.
