I Last Thursday night was the oe
i casion , oi' the celebration of the
organization of the “Owl Club.”
Twenty-seven numbers, includ
ing invited guests assembled up
on the banks of Town Creek to do
honor to the occasion. Yo fyods,
what a feast! Six chicken.? with
the proper ingredianf* only known
to tms club was enoughh for the
multitude. At 8 o’clock the fire
was kindled under a monster wash
pot which was kept up until 10
o’clock when the conglomerated
mass was served out ala Francair.
Have'you ever attended one of
these chicken stews? If not, you
have missed a dish beyond the
power of Delmonico to serve. The
amateur never fails to pronounce
it glorious.
A harp'and guitar in the hands
of Orvil'e Ewing and Fred Dealing
furnished delicious mu>ic for this
auspicious oceossive. B E Tatum
and B. T. Brock wore chief culina
rians. At 10:30 ail were satisfied
to leave a small remnant in the
f*ot, and the meeting quietly ad
journed. The member* of the Owl
