Mr. Eve r eit dwelt at some length upon the un fortunate condition of the farmers giving! facts and figures to show that they and their interests suf fered by unjust legislation. The case was thoroughly diagnosed, but t jj-e prognosis w r as left to other statesmen more bold if nat ss wise. Mr. Everett’s speech showed him to be pi careful and conservative statesman, and all may rest assnr ed that if Everett dots not set any rivers on fire during the progress of the next session of congress he will generally be found on the right side of all questions. Ever ett may not diitinguish himself, but no one will have cause to be ashamed of his record in congress. Will the day be observed’in Dade county at it should? In Trenton several of our most enterprising citizens have agreed to each plant a tree either at the court house, the acad emy or upon some street. A year or two ago several of our citizens plsntcd out trees around the court house, and today each individual takes a pride in marking tne growth of his particular tree. Let every village in Dade county or ganize in au effort to have every citizen plant a tree next Friday. An elm tree is most preferred. Se lect your tree and bavj it ready for the occasion. The enemies of the Farmers al liance wsr# rejoicing in the idea that the order was on the wane, hut the harmonious meeting at Indian apolis will soon strengthen tin order that the wishes of its ene mies will corns to naught.—Alli ance man.
