A Prominent Plsysielan.
A prominent New York physician
in discussing the merits of Jtfpnns
Tabules with a brother M. V- stud :
“Several years ago I l nat
if one wished to becoine u plnlan
thopist, and do a btw/icent deed—
one that would help the whole hu
man race —nothing could he better
than to procure the Roosevelt lio .t

of the Ripatu Tabules, and cause it to
be put up in the form of a ketchup
and distributed among Up poor.”
Sales Increasing-
The largest retail drug store in
America is that of ffegeraan A Cos.
on Broadway in New York City.
A reporter who went there to learn
how Ripans Tab
ules were selling
bought a five-cent
carton and asked:
“Do you have
Auch call for
these?”
He was referred
toagentleman who
f roved to be the
ead of the depart
ment. He said:
*' The sale of Ripans Tabules is
constant and is increasing, due
especially tothe influential character
of the testimonials in the daily press,
and growing out of these, through
the recommendation of friend to
friend. Satisfaction with them is
very general. When once they are
begun I notice tint a permanent
customer for them la made- This, 1

merit, which proves the bona fide
character of the advertising. I think
them specially useful in the general
run of stomach troubles.”

be. Most usdpl o have learned by
careful research
and that prices are regula
ted /Vy supply and demand. The
qpest notable increase during re-
cent months has beer, in the price
of the products or the farm and
garden; it cannot lie possible that
the “down-trodden” farmer so be
loved by the Courier has been ex
acting tribute and raising prices
beyond what they ought to be.
Prices in other lines in which the
wages of skilled mechanics are in
volved have also advanced because
the prosperity of the people has
created r larger demand than upuul
therefor. If the Courier has really
discovered anew method of regu

that evil-minded people are tam

AN OLD 1 tRAPIN.
About three years ago, Lee For

ones hand.
Cut on the ternnio’s back was
this inscription: “Mack Acuff,
May 14th 1881.”
Last week Mr. Forester found

Mack is now I>¥ ingin Arizona

Finances
At a Low Ebb.
For the first time in several
years Dade county’s paper is about
ts go below par.
When the coming term of court
meets, jurors ana court officers
will be paid with a paper which
will be north less than par on the
face value.
Again the old regime will be
upon us and the man lea y to
discount county paper at 10 per
cent less than face value will
smile as he pockets
his profits at the expense of his
poor but helpless victim.
Already', county orders are out
standing ugainst funds depleted.
When taxes begin to come in, of
coiuse the strain will be relieved,
but in the meantime some poor
unfortunates must suffer.
What will be left in the treasury
next spring will be swept away
with the March term of court,
