DEATH OF MISS ANNIE NUTT;
I%?? port Tlmt the Family \Ya* Poisoned ???
The Stories Sifted Down.
Pittrufro, September 18.???A special from
n ion town, l???o., says, that Miss Annie C.
Nult, tlio second daughter of tho late Captain
Nutt, who wns killed by Dukes, died sudilenly
lout night from cholera morbus. It wus said
that the whole family had been taken seriotu-
lyjll, and attacked with violent spasms, and
this gave rise to the report that they had boon
poiconcd. Thcso stories, however, all sifted
(lowit to tbo facts that Annie, who was tho
one that throw stones at Duke* on tho street,
died of cholera morbus, can Jed by eating
unripe pears. Sho was ill onlv 18 hours. Tho
grandmother and little Nellie, tho grand
daughter, arc ill from eating grapes.
A special from Uniontowu to-night says,
that Nellie Nutt is not expected to live
through the night. Tho impression is still
gcnerul that tho family hus been
poisoned, either by Occident or
design. It has been decided
to hold n postmortem examination to-mor
row on Annie???s body. Mrs. Nutt was at first
averse to this, but finally gave her consent.
Tho funeral of Annie Nutt will tnko place
to-morrow afternoon. There is great excite
ment over the nflair.
