Receipt* for five days amount to 291,124 bales, against 202,1??5 balc-s for the corres ponding time last year, which shows that we are not lagging behind. In the local cotton market there has been an active demand all tho week, and all offerings have been steadily token, though the market has been ofa declining tendency.
