BULK (Powder sold loose) Hi BUMFORD’Sjwhen notfreshBI REPORTS OF GOVERNMENT CHEMISTS As to Purity and Wliole someness of the Royal Baking Powder. « j ]j ave tested a package of Royal Baking Powder, which I purchased in the <iuen market and find it composed of pure and wholesome ingredients. It is a cream of tartar powder of a high degree of merit, and does not contain either alum or phosphates, or other injurious substances. E. G. Love, Ph.D.” « Tt is a scientific fact that the Royal Baking Powder is absolutely pure. “H. A. Mott, Ph.D.” “ I havo examined a package of Royal Baking Powder, purchased by myself in the market I find it entirely free from alum, terra alba, or any other injurious sub stance. IIkuby Morton, Ph.D., President of Stevens Institute of Technology.” “I have analyzed a package of Royal Baking Powder. The materials of which .it is composed are pure and wholesome. S. Dana Hates, State Assayer, Mass.” The Roval Baking Powder received the highest award over all competitors at The Vienna world's Exposition, 1873 ; at the Centennial, Philadelphia, 1876 ; at tho American Institute, New York, and at State Fairs throughout the country. No other article of human food has ever received such high, emphatic, and uni versal endorsement from eminent chemists, physicians, scientists, and Boards of Health all over the world. Note—The above Diagkam illustrates the comparative worth of various Baking Powders, as shown by Chemical Analysis and experiments made by Prof. Schedler. A pound can of each powder was taken, the total leavening power or volume in each can calculated, the result being as indicated. This practical test for worth by Prof. Schedler only proves what every observant consumer of the Royal Baking Powder knows by practical experience, that, while it costs a few cents per pound more than ordinary kinds, it is far more economical, and, besides, affords the advant age of better work. A single trial of the Royal Baking Powder will convince any fair minded person of these facts. While the diagram shows some of the alum powders to be of a higher degree of strength than other powders ranked below them, it is not to be taken as indicat ing that they have any value. All alum powders, no matter how high their strength «.re to be avoided as dangerous. A Challenge to Senator Brown. The National Republican, of Wash ington City, commenting on war pa pers, s<i vs: "We can think of no oth er paper that would be so eagerly de- voure i by millions as one by ex-Gov- t?rnor Brown, of Georgia, entitled. •How My Militia Guarded Anderson- ville.’ Tim subject is an interesting one, it; d there are millions of people who are in <h use ignorance concerning it. It ftrik.es us that the provocation has been directed at the right man. Senator Brown is familiar with the details. He is cool, resourceful and master of a pen and capable of good work i t such a cause. By reason of his political affiliations with both sides at different times his utterances will be accepted by a large number of readers. He owes the State of Georgia a heavy debt and in some measure the entire South. Opportunity is offered for the discharge of a portion of the obligation. The tilt between Mr. Hill and Mr. Blaine over Andersonville was necessarily restricted, and victo ry is claimed by the partisans of both conte-tants. Le Senator Brown marshal the overwhelming facts in behalf of the truth of history, and show to the world how the North was responsible for all of the horrors of Andersonville and how it murdered Wirz to cover up its own guilt.—Macon Telegraph. FREE TRADE. The reduction of internal revenue and the raking off of revenue stamps from Proprietary Medicines, no doubt nas largely hem-fitted the consumers, as well as relieving the burden of home manufacturers. Especially is this the case with Green’s August Flower and Boschee's German Syrup, as the reduction of thirty-six cents per dozen, has been added to increase the size of the bottles containing these remedies, thereby giving one-fifth more medicine in the 70 cent size. T he August Flower for Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint, and the German Syrup for Cough and Lung troubles, have perhaps, the largest sale of any medicines in the world. The advan tage of increased size of the bottles will be greatly appreciated by the sick and afflicted, in every town and village in civilized countries. Sample bottles for 10 cents remain the same size. 17 eow. John C. Slorah, of New York, has been inThomasville several days pros pecting for the establishment of a tally-ho coach line in Thomasville the coming season. Six splendid horse* are driven to these tally-ho coaches. Thev carry about twenty passensrers Mr. Slorah is proprietor of a success ful line run from Saratoga Springs, N. Y., to points of interest in the vicinity. B. W. Whitfield, who resides near Munnerlyn, has recently lost 54 out of 64 hogs. Those he lost would have netted him 3,0C0 pounds of pork. Mr. Sim. Reeves, of the same locality, is •also a heavy loser. I had given myself up as lost be cause of inherited scrofula. Tried ev erything for purifying the blood with out benefit until I used Parkers Tonic, and can truthfully say that it has <jured me. I still use it for its splen did effect on my general health. H.
