Parting, at a railroad station the
other day, with an old friend who
was going away Iroui home, lie held
our hand in Ids warm grasp while he
said, “when you meet my little Dix.
give him a kind and encouraging
word of advice." His thoughts were
of his little boy and the temptations
that lie even along the flowery path
way of innocent childhood. Reader,
do you' ever think of the influence
your words and your life and charac
ter exert on other men’s boys? Seld
om, if ever. Well, think of it here
after, and extend a helping hand to the
little fellows in keeping them in the
paths of rectitude. By so doing many
fathers and mothers will pray for
you, and hoys grown to be manly men I
will bless your memory, which other- I
wise will have perished from the laud.
I Children frequently, generally we be
lieve, look away from the monotony
and restrictions of home life for their
models. 1 f for no other reason, a man
should lie a good man because lie itu- i
presses himself upon the boys. In
your conversation remember that—
