Inasmuch as our brother and co-
laborer. Colouel VV^etus ^esbit, has
been translated from the church
militant to the chinch triumphant,
nod that our heavenly Father in
his infinite love has seen fit to cut
him off iu the midst of his days, be
it resoL ed by the deacons Court:
1st. That we earnestly testify to
his zeal, piety and effioieucy in his
labors as a minister in the temporal
affairs of the church and that like
Stephen, lie was “full of fai*h and
power.” When increasing infirmaty
forbade active labor, bis zeal and in
terest remained undimmed,
2d. In losing him, our church loses
bright christaio, who delighted to
follow in the footsteps of his divine
Lord, and this court loses a member
who was tenderly beloyed and hon
ored.
3d: That this court extend its pro
found sympathy to his brother and
sister who yet remain, and to his
sorrowing relative*, praying that
they may be comforted by the assur
ance that our brother has departed
“be with Christ whioh is far bet
ter.”
4th. That a copy of these resolutions
be sent to the immediate relatives,
aud that a page of the minutes of
this court be devoted to his memory,
t hese resolutions being inscribed up
on it.

Electric Bitters.
Electric Bitters is a medicine suited for
any season, but perhaps more generally
needed, when the languid exhausted feel
ing prevails, when the liver is torpid and
sluggish and t tie need of a tonic and alter
ative is felt. A prompt use of this medi
cine has often averted long and perhaps
fatal bilious fevers. No medicine will
act more surely iu counteracting and free
ing the system from the malarial poison.
