Commencement Capt. Newman,

ment invitations. The work was done
by J. P. Stevens & Bro., of Atlanta, !
and is in the best style of the printer’s
art. The mails have carried these
missives into every section of-Georgia
and into other states. It is hoped that
the city will be thronged with visitors
at commencement, many among the
number being those who have received
their literary and military training in
the college. „

M. G. M. & A. C., is taking steps to
raise a company, under the second call
of President McKinley, to be com-
posed exclusively of ex-cadets of this
college. In this patriotic work be has
the sympathy of the Faculty and all
friends of the school who know of the
enterprise. The ex-cadets from the
college are scattered well-nigh all over
Georgia, with a goodly number in
other states. Many ot them held
membership in the state militia and
went to the front under the first call.
They are undoubtedly among the ly-st
drilled men in the state and have in
most instances been made officers in
the volunteer army. Notwithstanding
the fact that many have already en
listed there are more than enough left
to make a fine company. It the com
pany is formed many now in the com
mands would doubtless seek transfers
to the new company. Whatever comes
of the efforts now making it is unques
tionably true that there is material
among the smsll army of ex-cadets ot
the M. G. M. *fc A. College for a very
fine company—one that would be

evening of Commencement will be of
more than usual interest. Rev. D.
W. Brannen, who has engaged to

strong thinker and a pulpit orator of
high ability. Hrs discourse on this
occasion will be a striking feature of
the commencement. The City Y. M.
C. A., the Society of Christian En
deavor and the Epworth League have
been invited to attend the service as
organizations. The presence of these
bands of Christian young people will
lend inspiration to the scene and make

cherished tradition of the college.
