Death of Mrs. Elizabeth Howell.
Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards Howell,
widow ot Ashley V. Howell, died at
her home at Black Springs, May 25th,
1898, aged 80 years 8 months anil 14
days. Waiting lor the call of her Sa
viour, she was stricken with paralysis
on the 5th of May. She bore her at
flictions with Christian fortitude untii
God called her higher. She was a
member of Black Springs Baptist
church and was ever ready to do the
will ot her Saviour. Loved by all who
knew her, her death cast a gloom over
the community in which she lived.—
Our loss is her eternal gain; she is en
joying sweet rest beyond this vale of
tears. She was a devoted Christian
and an affectionate mother, and she is
reaping her reward.
Asleep in Jesus, blessel sleep,
From whence no one returns to weep,
Borne on angels’ wings on high
To mansions far beyond the sky,
And there with friends ever to dwell
And there with Christ she loved so
well. Her Son.
