Now that the war is over, the trus

The Union till) Meeting.
A meeting of one week’s duration j
was held at Union Hill, Ga., August ;
7, 14, inclusive. Rev. \V. B. Costley, I
of Stockbridge, Ga.. and Rev. G. \Y.
Morris, of Conley, Ga., had the ser
vices in charge.
We were visited by Rev. .J. G. Har
rison, Supt. Orphans’ Home, Macon,
who preached for us one night. He is
a speaker of power and intellect, and
his sermon did much good. Bro
Costley is a splendid revivalist, and
under his administration the Union
Hill church has grown strong.
Bro. Morris is one of the best rea
soned I ever knew. His' logic is
clear-cut, and his analysis and inter
pretation ot the scripture* is especially
how he has lived here. Mercury
would be the place of those very much
blessed, and Neptune for those ban
ished and denied all hope. Our earth
is a place full of hope, faith, desire and
death. Something of a heaven and
lieil combined for a wise purpose.
STARS, 3,000, SEEN WITH THE EYE.
The stars called fixed, are so far
from the earth they cannot be meas
ured. They are suns to other planets
or >oIar worlds. The nearest fixed
star that lias been measured is Alpha
Centauri, and its distance from the’
earth is 24,75f>,000,000,000 miles if
one can grasp such a distance, count
ing billions or trillions. Light travel
ing at the rate ot 185,000 miles
per second, takes 4 1-2 years to reach
the earth. Then think of stars mil
