THE EXCELLENCE OF SYRUP OF FIGS
is due not only to the originality and
simplicity of the combination, but also
to the care and skill with which it is
manufactured by scientific processes
known to the California. Fio Syrup
Co. only, and we wish to impress upon
all the importance of purchasing the
true and original remedy. As the
genuine Syrup of Figs is manufactured
by the California Fig Syrup Co.
only, a knowledge of that fact will
assist one in avoiding the worthless
imitations manufactured by other par
ties. The high standing of the Cali
fornia Fig Syrup Co. with the medi
cal profession, and the satisfaction
which the genuine Syrup of Figs has
given to millions of families, makes
the name of the Company a guaranty
of the excellence of its remedy. It is
far in advance of all other laxatives,
as it acts on the kidneys, liver and
bowels without irritating or weaken
ing them, and it does not gripe nor
nauseate. In order to get its beneficial
effects, please remember the name of
the Company —

has been outlined, including among
other pleasing features a debate on the
question, “Resolved, that the United
States Should Hold all Country Ac

The debaters, six in number, are
among the best speakers in the
college, and it can be safely predicted
that the debate will be full or life and

heartening words were greatly ap

and his visit will linger as a cherished
tradition of the college. Mr. Upshaw

This orator’s medal will prove a great

room for pork-packing establishments

Owing to the extreme low price of
cotton, which certainly can’t last al

Will make liberal cash advances on
cotton in store at 8 per cent interest,
not discounts, which is very little over
7 per cent discount.
I make this cut on account of the
present ruinous and depressed condi

large crop of cotton is passing into the
hands of the spinners and speculators
at not over half its intrinsic value.
