A REMINDER.
The Christmas season with all its
peace and gladness will only corneas
usual to emphasize the forlorn condition
of many homes in our midst—homes
less fortunate ihan our own where
grim poverty will keep all signs ot the
glad season out. Shall we, satisfied
with our own condition, selfishly for
get such as these? Such is not the
Christ teaching.
For several years past our peo
ple have generously given a “free will”
offering to the poor at Christmas tide.
Let us again do what we can to bring
some ray of sunshine to a cheerless
heart or home. Let us test anew the
Master’s promise, “It is more blessi d
to give than to receive.”
“What shall I giye? Money, cloth
ing, provisions, toys,anything you may
choose- Suggestions too may be given
concerning the disposal of the offer-
ings.
Contributions will be gladly re
ceived by the soliciting committee,
who will try to see as many of our
citizens as possible in the next few
days, or they may be sent to Dixon
Williams’ store, where they will be
turned over to the committee on d s,
tribution.
“Freley ye have received, freely
rive.” This is the true Christmas spirit.
