President Smith had failed to work in

i regard to two other or tlie strongest
members of the faculty. The most
influential members of the faculty in
turn asserted to the board that if Dr.

tagonizing every interest, and the re
sult has been a request for his resig
nation. It came to-night along with
Vice President Kilpatrick’s.
Dr. S. Y. Jameson of Atlanta has
been chosen to fill the presidency and

The whole affair lias been talked
throughout tire commencement and lias
practically taken the life out of the
exercises. Members of the board feel

There is strong hope to-night that
Vice President Kilpatrick may be re
