Here is a story that generally catches
the farmer, and is really more truth
than poetry: One time a merchant put
up a black-board in his store, and asked
his customers to write their names on it
■ and opposite, what they are doing for
humanity. A lawyer wrote, “I plead
| for them all.” A doctor wrote, “1 pre
scribe for all.” A preacher wrote, “I
I pray for all.” An old farmer walked up
and wrote his uame, scratched his head
’ awhile, then wrote. ‘‘I feed them all.”
