find out the cause.
It has been remarked that the negro
is more susceptible to consumption for
the resson that he takes no care of him-
! self, whole families often living in one-
room houses, each breathing the poison-
| ed atmosphere exhaled by the other. If
this is not the cause of so much con-
! sumption in tlie negro, then let us find
! out what the cause is and stop the
! sprtad of the disease. We must cure
! the negro in order to protect ourselves.
We must employ the negro as a servant,
; aud if the servant we employ is a con-
, sumptive, we run the risk of contracting
. the disease.
Our wise men are trying to discover
tlie source of consumption and we hope
; they will succeed. Tlie best remedy
that has been found is pure air.—Ex.
