Birthday Party,
Miss Mamie Ivey, teacher at Meri
wether, entertained several of her
friends at a birthday party last Satur
day evening at tho home of Air. and
Mrs. John Stiles.
The house was preuily decorated
with smilax and carnations.
The color scheme of red and green
was beautifully carried out in the
dining room wheie a delicious supper
was served.
After supper the gnests were enter
tained with a flower contest in which
Aliss Williams and Air. Gorley won the
prize.
Delightful music was rendered by
Misses Ella and Lillian Stiles. The
guests departed at a late hour hoping
Miss Ivey will celebrate many more of
her birthdays.

Aliss Katie McAIillan of this citv and
Mi 1 . George W. Bayne, of Macon, were
united in marriage last Thursday even
ing, at the home of the bride’s parents,
Mr. and Airs. J. W. AlcAIillan, on S.
Jefferson street.
The ceremony was impressively pro
nounced by Dr. D. W. Brannen, in the
presence of a few relatives and friends
of the young couple.
The bride was attended by Aliss Mar
garet Wilson, of Douglas, maid of
honor, and tire groom by Air Sam Hat
field, of Alacon.
Tho bride wore a becoming gown of
dark blue cloth, with hat to match, and
carried white carnations. The maid of
honor was attired in black marquesette
over pink, and carried a bouquet of
pink carnations.
The bride is a sweet and attractive
young woman, and has a Host of friends
in this city, who have won to her, by a
charming and winsome personality,
Air. Bayne is the son of Mr. John Al.
Bayne, of this city, but is nowl making
his home in Macon where he holds a
j splendid position with the Taylor-Bayue
Drug Go.
He is a young man of character and
worth, and is held in high esteem by all
who know him.
Mr. and Mrs. Bayne left immediatel
after the ceremony for their home in
Alacon, carrying with them the best
wishes of their friends.

will bo a candidate for re-electiou and
it is to he hoped he will be given bis of
