BUILD YOUR HOME
The first cost is but little greater than wood, and
the upkeep is next to nothing; the insurance is less;
the house will be cooler in summer and warmer in
winter; the saving in fuel alone would pay the inter
est on the difference in cost.
Our Common Brick are being used in the erection of the fine
new building at the G. N. & I. College. Take a look at them, and
ask the Masons their opinion of the quality.

Engineers Working on Plans for
$1,500,000 Passenger
Station.
Central of Georgia Railway engin
eers are working on a design for the
new passenger elation which it is plan
ed to erect in Macon.
Several plans have been considered,
hat ro far the management has not
beon able to decide on a type of state
ment that will answer all requirements
from the standpoint of service and at
the same time come within the financial
limitation of the road.
The station that is to be bnilt in Ma
con will cOHt approximately |1.500,000.
The station must be built and the work
will go forward as soon as the design
is selected. The officials of the Central
have had the Macon station matter un
der advisement for abont two years.
The present station is too small and in
every way is nusuited to the growing
needs of the Central’s passenger travel
through that city.

Can we assist in making this change more complete? Why yes, all
we have to do is to lend a helping hand by beautifying our surround

aged and delierte persons.
Disastrous wrecks and accidents on
the Central of Georgia Railway are to
be probed hereafter by an investigating
board partly made up of disinterested
persons, who will be invited as repre
sentatives ot the public to sit with the
railroad officials.
This is the Central’s latest step to
ward "taking the public into its confi
dence,” and thereby gaining the confi
dence of the public. The same plan has
been put into effect on the Illinois Cen
tral Railroad. That it will have the
effect of harmonizing the relations of
the public and the railroad is the belief.
"If in the future we are unfortunate
enough to have any serious accidents,
and there is reason to believe there was
negligence or carelessness on the part of
the railroad, we will invite some prom
inent citizens from the locality in whlah
the accident occurs to sit witli the of
ficials of tiie Central in making an in
vestigation,,” said Vice President W
A. Wiabnru yesterday, ""
“Onr object in promulgating this
plan is to take the public into our conlii
deuce. Often the public is given a
wrong impression about railroad acci-
doits, and often the railroad is given
undeserved blame. Often the railroad
is to blame. We want to thoroughly
sift out the accidents with parties en
tirely outside of the railroad, placing
the blame where it belongs.
“It is not the intention of the rail
road to deceive the public in matters of
this kipd. We realize that when there
is au accident which damages or en
dangers lifs or property or boili, the
public has the right to know the de
tails. It is our plan to furnish them,
and in order to assure the public that
the accidents are investigated fairly and
carefully we are going to ask disinter
ested parties to sit with 11s and com
pose part of the investigating board.”
That this scheme will result in the
Central meriting the confidence and
good will of the public is the belief of
the Central officials. The Central is
constantly safeguarding against acci-
i dents, and neither money nor efiort is
