Miss Caro Lane has been at home -pending the Christfas holidays with student at the University, is at home The gladness of the Christmas sea son was beautifully carried out on Christmas afternoon when a number of ladies from Milledgeville made happy and glad the prisoners at the Woman’s Building at the State Farm. The large dining room presented a pretty picture with its decorations of bright holly, mistletoe and garlands of evergp-een. The large tree decor ated too for the occasion and laden with appropriate gifts added to the scene. After all singing “Joy to the World," several select readings and recitations were given and the organ which has been bought and paid for by the ladies of the different churches fjwas presented. The gifts were then given from the tree, each one receiv- I ing something. Mr. Herndon Fas been a resident of this city for the past year, coming here from Atlanta, where he went from, his home in Hancock county. He traveled for the A. J. Carr Co. until a few weeks since,' when he ac cepted a position with the Exchange Bank. He is a young man of splen did charmH: and worth, and is held in confidence by all who know him. LADIES NIGHT AT KIWANIS The members of ihe Kiv.enis club were the hosts to their wives mid lady friends Tuesday evenin„ . • the Blue Bird tea room. It was one of the happiest occasions in the iiistory of the dub. The dinner served was a delightful one and there was plenty j | of fun' to make the evening a merry occasion. Each of the members car ried a prize, which was drawn by the ladies. President Allen Little in presenting the prizes made hits that kept tho crowd in an uproar of laughter. In going into the dining room the committee had arranged that each member should select his partner by chance and as the ladies •nmc down the stairs the men stood in line and got their partners as they marched into the dining room, which diversion made a great hit. In a happy speech Rev. G. I. Hiller presented the retiring president, Mr. W. S. Myrick, with an emblem pin. \lr. Myrick in accepting made a touching talk. Dr. J. C. Wilkinson then presented 'he present president, Dr. A. Y. Lit tle. an official emblem pin.
