Mr. Jenkins comes highly recom mended as a singer and leader, as he has had much experience. Mrs. Cunyers of Catersville $ays of him that he is one of the best she has ever heard. Mr. Jenkins will organize a chorus choir composed of the sweetest sing ers in the city, as the members of the other choirs and congregations have ben invited to aid in the sing ing. To Be Civic Organization Of Masons Plans have been made known of the organization of a Macivic Club in Milledgevillc, a committee visit ing Macon this week and completing plans that were originated by mem bers of a supper club of Masons. Mr. J. T. McMullen. High Priest of the Chapter. Mensrs F. H. Coleman, W. B. Wood and Jere Moore were the co-imittfp appointed to draft I plans for the organization. The club will be composed of Masons and will set in .1 civic nature. In the proposed organization, the club will co-operate with the Kiwanis and other civic and patriotic organ izations in dcvrlopnig Milledgevillc and Baldwin county. The club will meet for organization Thursday- night March 15th. The Kiwanis club will be invited as the guest of Macivic at an early date. The idea of such an organization originated at a meeting of a supper club that ha* been in force for about a year. John Guerry, District Gover nor of Georgia Kiwanis, will make his first official visit to the Milledgcville club next Friday evening, when he will address the club on Kiwanis work. Governor Guery succeeded Dr. E. T. Holmes in the Governor’s chair and his visit to thin club is of par ticular interest. He is one of the outstanding citizens of South Geor gia, and his address to the club it pected to be a most interesting The Milledgevillc Club is one of the most progressive in the state, having undertaken a very active pro gram for the year. In making his announcement he states that he does so in answer to numerous inquiries that have come to hint during the past few weeks. Col. SHOW FRIDAY NIGHT TO BE BIG HIT Chapel Tick'.ts were being literally “goobl- ed up" today for the show to mor row night. “The Whole Towns’ Talk ing” to be presented in the college chnpel by the G. M. C. Dramatic Club under the direction of Mrs. T. A. Reese. The esat is composed of some prom inent young Mill.dgeville people and students of the college. The piny a scream and keeps the audience in convulsions of laughter from the first curtain through. A special chorous of Milledgevilb Debs will add a musical feature to the F'how. The funds derived from the per formance will go to repairing the college auditorium. The Union Recorder Treasure Trove Hunt has at last aroused the complete interest of members and public alike as the finish draws nearer and nearer, with every ambi tious worker doing her best to close the, already small, gaps between the leading contenders. There is no such thing .as standing still now, for a number either advances or falls a little back. This week shows several changes in the comparative standing and no doubt there will be more changes to come in the few working dayy left before March 24th. The much hoped for “outstanding leader" has yet to be found among the workery and this week as in the past, several members are tide for their present position. This is the first time however that two hove 1 been tied up for first place, with Mrs. Dozier and Mrs. Dennard hold- : ing that honor this week. They award ed contracts for nupplies, heard sev eral complaints of the need of road work, and paid bills. In the after noon Mr. Geo. Blount engineer of the Tenth District came before the Board and discussed with them the work that is being done relative to build ing the Macon highway. A Cmmittee of the Kiwania Club met with Mr. Blount, and conferred with him relative to the hifhwey eatorieg the Hunt ill be heard but remember this fact, Credits not rumors will win the Chrysler. M. C. team was high in the competition. The team is coached by Sgt. O. H. Wootten, and in commenting on this new honor his t am haa,won, Sgt. Wootten stated that he believed the records this year would exceed those of the Inst yr.nr team. His team of ten cadets have average 91 out a possible 100. The team will enter the Hearst Matches again thia year. Dr. Holme* received instructions on the honor school inspection that is to be held later in the spring this week.
