Dr. and Mrs. Lowery Davis who
have been spending the past several
months in Florida, wijl visit Mrs.
Daxns’s sister, Miss Florence Barnett,
this week. Dr. Davis has been a
medical missionary in Hashing, China,
for several years, but ha-j been
visiting in this country several
months.
Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Clarke have
returned from Fort Meade, Fla.,
where they have been spending sev
eral months. Their friends here
missed them while they were gone,
and gave them a cordial welcome
back.
MARRIAGE OF VIRGINIA GIRL TO
G. M. C. MAJOR ANNOUNCED
The announcement of the marriage
of Miss Mary Lynn Preston, of
Abingdon, Va., to Maj. Robert W.
Gray, of the G. M. C. 'acuity, which
wus solemized on December 30th,
during the Christmas holidays, came
as p surprise to the many friends of
Maj. Gray here.
Miss Preston and Maj. Gray were
married at the home of the bride'
parents during the holidays and Maj.
Gray returned to Milledgeville to
continue his work here. Mrs. Gray
will come to Milledgeville at
early dute to make her home.
Mrs. Gray is a member of or
the prominent families of Abington.
and is a young woman of much pe
sonal charm. She is a graduate of
Johnston-Willis Hospital in Rich
mond, Va.

Miss E. P. Sheram of this city and

marriage Saturdny morning at the
Baptist church. Rev. H .D. Wnrnock

Mrs. Langley left for a bridal trip to

of the Union Recorder will leave this
week for Eatonton, where they will
manage a similar campaign for Editor
Wall of the Messenger. Simultanious-
ly they will put a campaign on for
Mr. Wall’s Wilkinson county paper
at Gordon.
During their stay in Milledgeville
Mr. and Mrs. Atwood met a number
of our people who learned to ap
preciate them for their splendid
character and social and genial na
tures. Mr. Atwood is a native of
New York State, and was a world
war soldier, seeing service in France.
He received his training in Augusta
prior to going over sea. Mrs. At
wood is a member of one of North
Carolina’s best families.
The writer who was associated
with them daily during the nine
weeks they were in the city, found
them pleasant and agreeable, and
there was not a single disagreement
ith them as to their methods of
managing the campaign.
