Charlie Tillman and daughter, is continuing this week, closing Sunday night. It iN seldom that such interest is shown as is being manifisted in this meeting. Quite a number have unit ed with the church, some of whoi are influential men in the county. Among those rereived in the church Sunday night; three genera were, represented—Emmett L. This tabernacle, with a seating ca- pacity of about six hundred, was com menced Wednesday afternon of thi- week. and on next Sunday at 3:00 P. M. there will be a unique service in it conducted by Rev. Mr. Tillman ami his daughter in behalf of he older people to which everybody i* invited. Special songs will feature this service. A conveyance committee, with Mr. Frank Little, chairman, will furnish transportation to and from this ser vice for all who do not have a con veyance. The petition of Fowler-Flemister Coal Company, a corporation of said State and county, respectfully show-. 1. That on June the loth, 1908, at , the special June term of the Superior Court of Baldwin county, a charter way issued to it at and for the term of twenty (20) years, as appears in Minure Book J. pages -T55, 6 and T in the clerk's office of said county: and that said charter will expire ; June the 15th, 1928 next, reference is made to said record as may ■ e necessary in the premises. That on January the 8, 1912, at the regular January term of r-aid court an amendment to said charter was au thorized as will appear of record in Charter Book Xo. 1 pages 73 and 74 of the clerk's office of said court, to which reference is made as may 1928, the following resolution was I unanimously adopted, a majority of i stock being represented in person. Inasmuch as the original charter of I the Fowler-Flemister Coal Company wall expire, by limitation on June 15th, 1928, said charter having been granted on June the 15th, 1908, by the Superior Court of said County as app&ars of record in Minute Book J- ppge 455-7, clerk's office of Bald win Superior Court; and, inasmuch as, said charter was amended by said court on January 8th, 1912, as ap pears of record in Record Book Xo. 1, page 73. in said Clerk’s office: Therefore, be it resolved that an ! application be made to the Superior Court of Baldwin County Georgia, or to the Judge thereof at Chambers as may be by law permitted and al lowed, for a renewal of said charter and renewal of the powers contained in the said amendment thereto both as set out in the original act of in corporation, and of said amendment. And it be further resolved that to this end and for this purpose the president of this corporation be and he is hereby authorized and empower ed to take such steps as may be necessary to secure the renewal of said charter and said amendment for the term of twenty years as by law- allowed and provided. In the early days of the boll weevil the plan was to start poinsoning when in festation reached ten per cent. Ex perience has taught us tha the host of Jun when the first appears regr.rdlesw of the per cent of infestation. A good plan to follow is to put on the firs: applica tion ten days before the first squares appear, folowing with the second and third applications about a week apart. Usually by this time all weevils will he ou of winter quarters .and will have been brought under control. Either dust or liquid poison may be used but the poison mu-t be put in the buds of the plants if results are expected from early poisonings.
