tion in Savannah this week. Col.
Sibley carried with him a large
number of printed copies of popular
songs. This means that the social
feature.** of the meeting will be en
livened with vinging led by Col. Sib
ley.
Prof. W. O. Dorough of Vienna,
who has been principal of the high
school .at Ashhurn for the past three
years, spent Sunday and Monday in
the city. He graduated from G. M.
C. about eight years ago. nnd while

DR. WILKINSON PREACHED
SUNDAY NIGHT
Dr. J. D. Wilkinson, pastor of the

ed the pulpit at the Baptist church
Sunday evening. He was returning
to his home in Athens, from Forsyth,
•here he preached the baccalaureate
sermon at Bessie Tift College, in the
morning.
Dr. Wilkinaon has a number of
friends in Milledgeville and he was
heard by a large congregation Sun
day evening.
The last meeting of the Doctors’
Academy of the Georgia State Col
lege for Women wns held at the home
of Dr. and Mrs. G. H. Webber lost
Thursday evening. The newly elect
ed officers were installed, the charter
was formally accepted and plans for
'.he future made. After the business
meeting a special hour was enjoyed.
Delicious refreshments were served
by Mrs. G. H. Webber.
Rev. H. D. Warnock preached the
Commencement sermon at the Dev-
ereaux High School Sunday. He was
heard by a large audience, and hit;
sermon was greatly enjoyed.
Mr. Ralph Simmerson’s condition
had greatly improved after under
going an operation for upendicitiw at
the City Hospital Monday of this
week. Mr. Simmerson had an acute
attack Monday and his condition was
serious for several days. His friends
arc pleased that he has rallied from
the operation.
