C.) opened Friday evening with nr? entertainment by the pri- r.nrv department presided over by jlV ( irrie Fair. Mias Alice Wright and Mi-- Chester Green. As usual the little children drew a crowd. The welcome address was nicely made by litrli* Charlie Whitfield. The um and necessity for education humorously put by masters Sanford Tuttle and George Brantley. There were drills and the presentation of our union by 13 little girls then • Good Night." The vast assemblage dispersed happier for having been there. The Commencement sermon was preached Sunday, June 9th. by Rev. McK. F. Cook, pastor of the Metho dist church at Brunswick. A large number of the cadets are in the city for a reunion to be held Wedn -day night. The college chapel was filled Mon day morning with a fine audience. The exercises were opened with pray er by Rev. J. D. Chapman and consist ed of Declamations by five of the cadets and recitations by five of the young ladies of the college. The declamations were far above an average. All the cadets did well, but Cadets Smith. Lufburrow and Humber were exceptionally fine. The recitations wore delivered in an excellent manner by Misses Alice Campbell, F.thel Bass*. Alice Whilden, Leone Bonner and Eva Perry. HOME COMING RAMA PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH On the second Sunday in July there will be a “Home Coming” at old Rama Primitive Baptist Church, two miles south of Gordon, Georgia and all who have ever been members of this church, all their descendant; and friends, and especially all de scendants of Joel Rivers, a charter member, are urgently invited to be present There will be no preaching—the day will he spent in social inter- coura* renewing old acquaintances and relating history and reminiscen ces of this century old church. A basket dinner will |, 0 served on the ground at noon ,nd all who can convenietly do so art* requested to bring a basket. Petitioners show that they desire the right and power to charge and collect intiation fees and dues from membery for the purpose of identify ing them against sickness and other physical disabilities and to aid and assii* in the burying of the dead and give any and all other and necessary assistance to the relief of its said members, with the right to receive donations, make purchases and aliena tions and create liens, not for profit but for the promotion of the bene volent purposoy of said corporation and for the welfare of its members, making .all necessary by-laws, rules and regulations in the premises as may be necessary. 6. Petitioners desire the right to per form any and all other acts not in- conwstent with the laws of Georgia and of the United Slates and in furtherance of the beneficent and benevolent purposes of the same. 7 They desire the right to issue indemnity and member-hip certifi cates and to give and take receipts for monies paid and to eiecute any and all other instruments i.ccesyary for the promotion of the purp^': •& ■'f the corporation. 8. They show that this application is made for ihe incorporation of the present unincorporated society known by said name in said county, this application being made with the unanimous consent and at the direc tion of the membery thereof. 9.
