The Democratic platform adopted
at Houston calls for the enforce
ment of the prohibition law. Gov. Al
Smith says that if elected he will use
the influence of his office to carry
out that pledge. The prohibition law
has been written into the Constitu
tion to stay, and it can be safely pre
dicted that it will be more rigidly
enforced under a Democratic adminis
tration with Gov. Al Smith Presiden
than It has been under the Republi
can administration with Mellon 1
supervision. Then why worry!
