"Running « Temperature”
When a fire breaks out. we t
the alarm; we hurry-skurry, breath
less. excited—call the department—
turn on the hose—a house is burn
ing! If the fire is discovered in
time, the building is saved. It is the
fire that is overlooked—that de
stroys.
Now. these bodies of ours are the
veritable houses we live in, and they
sometimes catch fire, as physicians
know. Then we begin to procrasti
nate; we wonder if the fever-fire
won't die out of itself, if we keep
on at work and let it alone. We
hate to go to u doctor—and we can't;
really afford to lay off and be sick!
You know how it is.
The fire grows into » holocaust.
The physician fire-chief, is called in
a hurry; he finds the building in
great danger of destruction, if not
a total loss—just by neglect of the
small fire.
If you are running u temperature
—a little every afternoon—which
breaks into a perspiration just after
going to bed at night, consult your
physician at once. The stitch in time
may save a hundred later on. A
fevar invariably means that some
thing is radically wrong; it is a warn-

be declared. You may not recognize
the cause, even if you knew how to
remove it. The physician is your
best bet.
If your child in running a temp
erature, look after his throut, his
lungs, his digestive tract; he has u
poison somewhere. Kind it and force
its elimination. But, be sure you are
right .before you do a thing; you
cannot afford mistakes—they cost
lots of money, and may co*« a life.

SUMMER DAYS IMPROVE CROPS
IN THIS SECTION
Crop. At. All L.I. Bit Ar. Pu
Along Rapidly \a Julr Sun Wai
Boiom of The Earth
All crops in this section arc be
hind the .-rhcdule for this season «f
the year. Frequent rains during the
month of June prevented as rapid
rultivutic n as was necessary for quick
growth, and some of the fields were
full of grass, ns the soil was too wet
to permit working, but since the ruins
have ceased rapid work has been done
to check the growth of gra“s and the
crops are now beginning to present a
better appearance, but both cotton
and corn are quite small for the 2nd
week in July. Usually cotton is waist
high at this time of the year on the
best land, but at this period it is
about knee high. The growth has
been rapid for the past two weeks,
and unless the weevil takes too much
of the crop to satisfy its voracious
appetite it is hoped that the yield of
cotton will be sufficient to insure a
profit to the producers.
The corn crop is not as promising
aw desired, and it is feared that not
enough will be produced in the
county to meet the requirements of
the farms. Forage crops are being
raised in order to supplement the
feed supply, and these are starting
off with a rapid growth, and it is
hoped that the harvest will he abund.
