Jordan spent a few days of the early part of this week at Tybee. He was with Mr. and Elisha Jordan, of Sandersville. STEMBRIDGE—DEVEREAUX A marriage of cordial interest to many friends was that of Miss Sara- mae Stembridge, of Macon, to Mr. Otis Virgil Devercaux, of this city, which was yolemnized at the Mulberry Mehtodist church, in Macon. Sunday July 22nd, at nine o’clock, the Reverend Bailey performing the cere mony before the immediate relatives of the bride nnd groom. The lovely bride was smartly gowned in a costume of tan crepe. Her hat was a small close fitting model, matching her costume, her other accessories harmonizing. corsage of bride's roses and lilys-of-the-valley. Immediately .after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Devercaux left for wedding trip through the mountains of Tennessee. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mm R. E. Stembridge, of Macon, formerly of Milledgeville, and young woman who has endeared herself to a host of friends by her charming personality. She received her degree from G. S. C. W. in June. The groom is a popular young busi ness man, being connected with the Hines-Callow ay Company, in this city, and is highly esteemed for his many sterling qualities. After iheir wedding journey Mr. and Mrs. Dcvereaux will be at home with Mr. and Mrs. O. II. Twilly on South Wayne Street Mrs. Nelle Womack Hines left Friday of the past week for the Pied mont Hospital in Atlanta, where sue will spend the next several months. Mrs. Hines will be greatly missed while she is absent from the city, as she is one of Milledgcville's most prominent women, and takes a lead ing part in the activities of the city. Before leaving Mm Hines mailed many of her friends a postal con taining the following verses: I’m going to take a holiday; This is to say adieu.
