PECANSi FRU | T TREES, ORNA- Plana for holding this fall the Unrest fairs ever held in this sec- i of Georgia were formulated at a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Middle Georgia Fair Association h?ld at the office of Secretary C. B. McCullar of the Fair Association here Tuesday night. The entire board of officers and directors will attend the annual meet ing of the Associn-ion of Georgia Fari«. ; n Macon on February 12th, and 13th, and at that time will con tract with some outstanding carnival company to furnish attractions for the 1U29 Fair. Each member of the Board of Directors ha . signified his intention of attending the Macon meeting and President Dunaway ex pects the Milledgeville fair to have a larger representation of officials than any other fair in the state at the Ma con meeting. Efforts will be made by the Mil- Icdgevillc delegation to bring th.- next annual convention of the fair officials to Milledgeville, resolution made by President R. H. Wootten of the Mil ledgeville Chamber of Commerce and who is also a member of the Board of Fair Directors, to invite the next convention to Milledgeville having hpen adopted unanimously. Mr. Woot ten stated that Milledgeville could well accomodate the fair officials of the state at their 1930 meeting, which will be held next January or Feb ruary. The Milledgeville delegates will therefore invite next year’s meet ing to convene here, and the fair officials will be backed in this move ment bv the Chamber of Commerce, city oficials and the Kiwanis club. The present fair grounds arc to b<* greatly enlarged in order of the securing of a much large carnival this fall than has heretofore been seen in Milledgeville. Direc tor T. B. Dumas was authorized and instructed to buy or rent consider able adjoining land to I he present fair grounds for the use of the Fair Association and i‘ is expected that this year’s fair will possibly double last year’s not only in attendance and in exhibits but in the size and number of attractions. A much larg er carnival will be secured this year. Mr. Dumus was also ins' ructcd to investigate the advisability of extend ing the water and sewerage accomo dations on the fair grounds and it is likely that running water will be placed in each building on the fair, grounds. A greatly increased premium list will be offered to exhbitors of Bald win, Hancock, Jones, Putnam, Wash ington and Wilkinson counties this yoar. Competition was opened to nil counties adjoining Baldwin last year and there was so much interest evi denced by exhibitors from adjoining Mrs. Wm. W. Millc-, formerly Miss Nan Barkesdale of this city, recently happened to a very painful accident, and was compelled to under go a most intricate operation. The following letter from Mr. Mil ler to Mrs. Miller’s gutters, Mrs. Harry Richardson, of Montezuma, Ga.; Mrs. J. D. Howard, of Coral Gables. Fla.; Mrs. Adella Ware, of Montezuma, Ga., and Mrs. M. S.
