Jimmy Brown knew the meaning of work in the matter of overcoming difficulties. It H'iu in the late autumn that Mrs. Jimmy began to think about i ruff, and a few piece* of more furniture for the coming spring. She had grown tired, a* any good woman must, with the ceascle** dustisg, weeping, changing position* of the antiquated sofa and worn rocker*— she ju«i couldn't make the living- room look cheery any more! But the relentless mortgage kept eating its way into the family treasury; until it could be paid off. The little wife decided to atop every leak in the family budget she could—and to w»ve closer if possible, but how? There was just thirty-five tints in her purse*—a dime and a quarter—when her resolution wa* formed; alie would save every dim© that rame her way.
