Green to succeed R. H. Harper as a member of the County Board of j Education from the Meriwether Dis- j triet. This action,was necessary to I -enure c quorum on the Board in or- I tier to pay the teachers for Christ mas. Mr. C. F. Riley, another her, is critically ill in a hospital in Macon. Mr. Green is thoroughly familiar with the school affairs of the ty ns he wa, formerly a member of the Beard. Mr. Harper succeeded Mr. Green who resigned when moved to Florida. The band of the Georgia Industrial ome spent a while in the city Sat urday afternoon and played n number of tunes. The band was made up of boys ranging in ages from ter twelve to eighteen years of age. The music was fine and attract- I a large crowd. They were on $heir return to Macon from Sparta, rherc they gave an entertainment Friday night. The G. I. H. is an orphan's home and was established by Rev. Mr. Mumford years ago.
