Peace, recently released from jnil here after his ca^e for assault and battery was nolle prosed, w.a. rented Friday night by Deputy Sheriff Vinson and held for authori ties in Jackson, Georgia, charged with theft and signing for registered mail that did not belong to him. The alleged thefts were made about a week ago and Sheriff Haynie vra.s notified to be on the look out for him. Friday night about six-thirty, Ikputy Sheriff Fred Vinson saw him on Hancock street and made the ar rest. Seventy-one dlolars and one of the registered letters were found in his pockets. Peace denied' ac knowledge of the thefts. Police authorities of Jack>on were notified and came hero Monday for him. MR.
