Brook*, and Miss Nettie Moore, of the Woman's Missionary Society of the Milledgeville Methodist church, at tended a rone meeting of the Society of the Oxford District at Haddock Wednesday afternoon of last week. Mrs. R. E. Long was on the program and rendered several vocal solos. She accompanied on the piano by Miss Jenkins. The meeting was held under the direction of Mrs. Bell S. Wotton, and Mrs. Brand, District Secretary. one of the first roads to be surveyed by the federal highway department a number of years ago, and is by .a number of milse the shortest route from Macon to Augusta. As one of the speakers pointed out at the meeting yesterday, this sec tion of middle Georgia ha>. not re ceived one foot of paving from the highway department and they think it is time something was being done. A determined effort will be imade in the next week to get the highway board to include this route also their paving program, as it is ■ tainly the logical route to Augusta from Macon. The limestone dirt has already been put down from Mil ledgeville out four miles intersection of the Sparta .and Sand- ersvillc road, and has been held »t this point for several months awaiting the decision of the board. CHRYSLER ANNOUNCES REDUC- TION OF PLYMOUTH PRICES Beginning next Monday, Chrysler Corporation wall inaugurate a Bales policy under which the Com pany will compete in the lowest price automobile market. The Plymouth full-size, four-door, five-passenger sedan will be reduced in price from $0115 to $625 f. o. b. Detroit. Of wit 19,000,000 passenger car; now licensed in the United States, wc estimate that approximately 9,500,- 000 were purchased ns either new or used cars at a price of less than $500 or $600. Although half the oars in use were purchased above that price cla-s and in the price class in which Chrysler, Dodge and De Soto cars occupy so important a place, it is obvious that buyers of limited pur chasing power ci mprise over half the market for all automobiles. Progres sive policy calls for responding to this demand in the low price range, used in this country are sedans and Fifty per cent, of all passenger cars it is accordingly important to bring the four-door sedan pnrticuinrly within the lowest price range. The car is already designed and in production; more than 360,000 Plymouth* or its pre decessors have been sold; and the plants and facilities for larger pro duction already exist. It is reported that they met with a liberal response from the membership, and this budget practically subscribed.
