The Hand* Stand Still and Its Voice I* Huabed The cables on the clock on steeple of the court house broke Thursday of the past week, and the hands on the dial showed the hour as twenty minutes past three for sev eral days. This clock is the only public time keeper in the city, and the fact that it had ‘topped running caused much notice and comment, and caused Many questions concerning the why* and wherefores to be asked Mr. J. C. Grant, whose duty it is too keep the clock in order and to see that it keeps correct time. The cables that broke had been in use forty-five years, and it was time they gave way to wear and tear.
