Jersey Bulletin Places Allen’s Invalid Hone at Top. H. G. Banks
Jersey’s Run Close Second. Agricultural College Gives
Dairymen High Rating in Butter Fat Records
The dairy herds of Allen’s Invalid j herd of Mr. Banks in the lead for

24th place in the United States for
milk averages and fat avearges for
the month of May.
The record was issued in the Au

places. The Jersey Bulletin has not
released their records foe this month.

week at the site where the Georgia

BUCK SPRING SUNDAY
A burglar found his way into tho
home of Mr. T. A. Reese on Jeffer
son street Thur*4ay afternoon by
breaking out a screen in the bath
window, and stole a large sum
of money, a pistol and other valu
ables that he found after ransack
ing the apartment.
Mrs. Reese had gone to Sandcrt-
eillc for the afternoon, leaving her
home about three thirty. Miss Sara
Whitfield who lives in the Reese
home and is employed at A. J. Carr
Co., went to this house about four
o'clock to close the windows to pro
tect the home from nn approaching
storm and found the rooms in dis
order. She returned and summoned
the police who have been unable to
find the burglar.
The burglar opened bureau draw
ers, piled their contents in the floor,
pulled clothing $rom the closets,
turned beds upside down nnd went
into every section of the house. He
found some money belonging to Mrs.
Reese nnd n pistol of Mr. Reese’s.
Miss Whitfield hnd n savings bank
with about fifty dollars, so
them gold pieces which represented

Reese stated that many other
things had been missed sin

Workmen began today to remodel
the two story building which has
been occupied by the M. F. Davis
Dry Goods Company far more than
a quarter of a century, nnd will
complete their job early in Septem
ber.
The entire front of the building
will be torn out and a new glass
front with display windows will be
The plans call for an en
tire change in the front section and
minor changes in the interior.
The Davis Company has been in
the building for more than a quar
ter of a century and is one of the
oldest firms in the city. Mr. Davis
has associated with him in the busi
ness his two sons, Mctns Frank and
George Davis.
The building is a two 'story struc
ture nnd cne of the land marks in
the city. Its architecture is typical
of the periods about a half century
ago. The changes to make the build
ing more modern will leave only a
few stores in the business section
that were erected many years ago
have not undergone improvements.
