In Washington County
(Sandersvillc Progress)
Several t nicks from north Geor
gia have been in this section recent
ly for the purpose of buying *>ig»
which are given a ride to north
Georgia and sold to buyers in
section of the state. They will
buy pigs that weigh more than 125
pounds as the contend is mainly for
those ranging in weight from 2
125 pounds. Several of the Wash
ington county farmers have sold quite
a number of pigs to the truck drivers
who come here principally from
northeast section of Georgia.
It is claimed that there is i
profit in selling the young pigs than
there would Le to raise them and
use them for meat hogs; and be
sides the sales bring in the cash when
it is needed for financing this year’s
crops. The dealers make a profit on
their purchases and make frequent
trips here to secure more pigs for thi
north Georgia people who like pigs.
