COUNTY OF BALDWIN
Sealed proposals will be received
by the State Highway Beard of
Georgia, at the new office building
of the State Highway Board at Cap
itol Square, Atlanta, Ga., until 10:00
A. M., Central Standard time, De
cember 15, 1931, for furnishing all
labor, material, equipment and other
things necessary for the construc
tion of 6.385 miles of graded road
located in Baldwin County on what
locally known as the Milledgeville-
Sparta road. Beginning 4 miles east
of Milledgeville and ending near
Baldwin-Hanccok County line other
wise known as Federal Aid Project
No. 241-B in Baldwin County. The
work will be let in one con.ract.

Said work shall begin within ten
(10) days after formal execution of
contract and shall be completed with-

way Department shall in'no way be
bound or obligated by any bid
award until the execution of a form
al written contract by the State
highway Board. When such contract
has been executed, written notice
shall be given the Contractor at
which time, and not before, work
may be commenced.
Plans and specifications are on
file at the office of the undersign
ed at Atlanta and Louisville, Geor
gia, and the office of thc Board of
Commissioners of Baldwin County at
Milledgeville, Ga., where they may
be inspected free of charge. Copies
of thc plans may be obtained upon
payment in advance ‘of $7.00. Copies
of the General Specifications may
be obtained upon payment in ad
vance of the sum of $1.00 which
will not be refunded except to
the successful bidded who will be
furnished a complete set of plans
and specifications free of charge.
Upon compliance with the require
ments of the Standard Specifica
tions ninety (90) percent of the
amount of wor* done in any calen
dar month will be paid for betwe
the 10th and 15th day of the sti
ceeding month and the remainder
within thirty (30) days after final
completion and acceptance. Propo
sals must be submitted on regular
forms wh»ch will be supplied by the
undersigned and must be accompani
ed by a certified check for $1,-
500.00 and must be plainly marked
“Proposal for Rond Construction,”
County and Number and show the
time of opening as advertised. Bid
ders bond will not be accepted. Bond
will be required of the successful
bidder as required by law.
Bids will not be received from

ed on the qualified list of contractors
at least 30 days prior to the open
ing of bids.
Every, contractor applying for
proposals must submit at the same
time, on a form, which will be sup
plied by the undersigned, a state
ment of his contracts on hand.
All bids must show totals for each
item and total of amount of bid.
Right is reserved to delay the
award of the contract for r. period
of not to exceed thirty (30) days
from the date of opening bids. Right
is reserved to reject any and all
bids and to waive all formalities.
