Milledgeville has four safe and
sound banks, which have contributed
greatly towards making this city
a business center.
The two -oUcrcs located here are
institution of which »ny community
may well be proud. Each of them
have a most important part in mak
ing Milledgeville one at the best lit
tle cities in the State.
There will be services at Mont
Pelier church neat Sunday at 11:30
a. m-, and 8:30 p. m. Rev. E. C.
Butts will preach at both services
and the public is cordially invited.
The Fanners Club met Saturday
at the home of Mr. W. W. Moran,
and spent several hour.n most pleas
antly. Mrs. Me ran and her daugh
ters served a barbecue dinner with,
acceseiories, which was greatly
joyed. The July meeting will be held
with Mr. Geo. W. Hollinshead on
iWhite Lake.
the games of baseball between Mil-

fond of the national sport, went
after h'm and brought him to the
city, and accompanied him to the
games.
Mr. T. L. McComb, who is at

the baseball games. When at home
he seldom misses being present at
a game.

Health Department, was at the G. f

as sponsored by the Health Depart

Teacher Association.
Inquiries for infon. ation and data
concerning G- M- C., are coming into
the office daily, and the prospects
for a most successful opening next
September are most promising. The

advertising to the outside world the
advantages of G. M. C„ as a prepara
tory Military School. TWs is
time for the people of Milledgeville
to unite in their efforts to carry it
forward to an increased and larger
fi-ld of usefulness..
The fact is that Milledgeville, with
the return of the expected prosper
ity this fall, will find an enlarged
trading territory, and the merchants
should prepare to offer every induce
ment to bring people to this city to
make their purchaser. The Union-
Recorder has a circulation through
out Baldwin and surrounding coun
ties and therefore, it is a medium for
the merchants to carry messages
weekly to the people, who come here
lo trade.
Rev. Mr. Barron, of Hapeville, was
here the past week assisting Rev. J.
F. McCluney in revival services at
the Hardwick Baptist church. There
two prominent baptist ministers had
the pleasure of celebrating the an
niversaries of their birthdays to
gether. Both of them were born on
June 15th, however. Rev. Mr. Mc
Cluney is a year older than Mr. Bar
ron. When the fact became known
in Hardwick, they were the receipt
of many hearty congratulations.
Summertime returned Saturday af
ter several days of unseasonable
weather, with the temperature sev
eral degrees below normal.
Sunday was a busy day for Rev.
L. E. Roberts, pastor of the Bap

church in the morning; in the af
ternoon he preached at the State
Prison Fatm and the Milledgeville
State Hospital, and again at the
Baptist church In the evening.
