BELL'S STORE REMODELED
The store of Mr. E. E. Bell has
been in the process of a reniodeling
program this week. New floors have
been placed and the furnishing*

painted. The front of the store has
been given a new dress of paint.
Rev. L. E. Roberts will preach at
the Methodist church next Sunday

BASEBALL THIS WEEK
The Milled geville baseball team has
set a rapid pace in the Georgia
State League and is well on the
road to win the second half. They
are reaching the turning point and
• every game will count from now on.
Milledgeville has a chance to win
the league pennant if they win this
second half. It will be a great thing
for MiHedgeville if this can happen.
Much favorable publicity wfll be'de
rived from the accomplishment.

There remain in the hands of the
local Red Cross only a few more
sacks of the Red Cross flour. The
Government has issued strict orders
that the committee, Messrs S. D.
Stembridgc and B. B. Adams, issue
this flour to only those in dire dis
tress, and have no other source for
sustenance. The committee requests
the co-operation of the public
carrying out these orders and that
endorsements be made for applicants
without these requirements are met.
That is the applicant is in dire want
assistance is absolutely neces
sary to sustain health and life.
The committee and Red Cross
thorities are determined to follow
the order* of the Government strict
ly and no one who is not in abso
lute want need apply.
PRESBYTERIAN CIRCLE TO
HAVE PICNIC
Circle number 7, the girls circle,
of the Presbyterian church will have
their regular meeting Friday after
noon at five o’clock at the home
of Mrs. J. O. Sallee. After the pro
gram a little picnic will be held
