grandmother, before she will agree

know all that goes on out at Green
Acre the next few weeks, so of
course I will watch with interest

But here goes! ! ! ! *
Dorothy seems to be the lucky

Dorothy Thaxton, who, with her
charming beauty and attractive per

most beautiful brides, and now the

Men and women are buying
more Pontiacs than any other car
in Pontiac's price range! Why?
Because they have found that this
big, modern Straight Eight excels
on all counts ... as you will find
when you see and drive it.
You get power in a Pontiac—
more power than you’ll find in any
other automobile at or near its
price — delivered far more
smoothly by Pontiac's 77-horsc-
power Straight Eight engine.
You get more speed, too—78
actual miles per hour. Your
Pontiac bolds the road better—
rides more comfortably—because
it's a big car, with 115-inch
wheelbase and well-distributed
weight (3265 pounds, curb
weight, for the 4-door Sedan).
And it's the only car in its price
range with the Fisher Ventila
tion System —greatest comfort
factor since the development of
the closed body.
There just isn't anything to com
pare with Pontiac at its price.
In Fisher Body beauty—in com
fort—in Straight Eight perform
ance. That's why America is
buying Pontiacs. That’s why
you'll prefer Pontiac, too.

Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Sibley an

the Tuesday night bridge club was
especually interested in this
nouncement. Mrs. Sibley is a char
ter member of this club and has al
ways been very interested in seeing
that it never misses a meeting. This
x the only club in the city that I
know of that has continued for
un terrupted time. Most of the clubs
that are organized run for a year
and that is the finish.

been the regular fashion for a couple

lar. The club is entirely informal and
the group enters into the festivities
with a care free air that makes c
occasion a howling success.
One of the most ardent baseball
fans in Millcdgcville is Mrs. Carl

A most attractive person, she

of Milledgeville’s social life.
On Jefferson street there arc two
little boyB, one a few months older
than the other, but both of them as
attractive as they can be. I refer
to Wister Ritchie, Jr., and Otis
Woods, Jr. Living across the street
from each other they are naturally
dose friends. Wister is talking al
though he is only sixteen months old
which is unusual for a boy. We
naturally expect girls to begin jab
bering at this age, but when a boy
can recite nursery rhymes and call
names, he is certainly showing an un
usual progresiveness that is out of
the ordinary. Little Otis Woods is
an adorable child and jurt like his
father. When he arrived his grand
father, Mr. Lewis Flemister, was so
thrilled that he had to take a day
off from his work and spend the time
just looking at this boy. He still
thinks he is the greatest kid alive and
1 sure I do not blame him.

Mr. Robert McComb has returned
from Atlanta, where he has been at
tending a business college, and ac
cepted a position with the Georgia
Railroad.
Prof. Roland E. Brooks, who has
been visiting his mother, Mrs. Anna
Brooks, left last Wednesday fer
Montezuma, having recentlly been
elected principal of the public
schools there.
Prof. M. M. Parks spent last Fri
day in the city, looking for a house
in which to reside, when he comes
here to commence his duties as
teacher in the G. N. k I. College.
We learn that he has rented
Fairfield house, and will move his
family here in about two weeks.
August 25th, 1903, news will be
continued next week.
