Brunswick, Ga.—An investigation
of the reosion along the South end
of St. Simons beach is being made
by the erosion board which includes
several army engineers. Following
the invost'gation, efforts will be
made to halt the erosion, it ir under
stood.
The erosion which Is taking place
for almost a mile cast of the pier
is becoming serious, it was stated.
Many cottages on the stretch of
beach have had to be moved back in
order to keep them from being
washed away, and the lighthouse
property rapidly is becoming
dangered.

In New Jersey we saw the farm?
planted uniformly in squares. Cross
ing the Mason and Dixon line the7
were in almost every shape human
ingenuity could devise. They were
long and narrow, short and blunt,
crescnt shaped, and some almost
like the human body w*th long lcg3
and arm'. As we passed further down
we viewed South Carolina with ter
raced fields, the terrace with growth
while the land frfiowed tilled crops
taken away. It was of special inter
est to me as passed over the Savan
nah river, near Hartwell, when I
thought of good old Louie Moon's
and his splendid lady. Then came
Jefferson and Jackson and other
towns, until Stone Mountain loomed
up. Georgia presented a more varied
assortment of colors to it* earth
than any other state. It was really
a great trip, and the most interest
ing episode of my life. It is worth
anyoae’s thne to take an' air trip, j
even over Georgia.
Next week I hope to take you from ■
78 feet below street level in New
York to the top of the Empire State j
Building, over 1,200 feet up and tall
you of the tremendous Hotel New
Yorker where over 6,000 people can
make their homes.
