Mr. W. W. Moran passed his sev
enty-second birthday anniversary
December 25th, Christmas Day. Mr.
Moran was remembered 'both with
Christmas and birthday gift* by his
loved ones. Mr. Moran although he
has passed his three score years and
ten is still young in spirit, and cn- j
joys telling and hearing jokes, being .
one of the liveliest in ally crowd he
may gather with. The Union-Recor
der joins in hearty congratulations,
and wishes for him many more
years of active life.
Motion Picture Studio Comes Friday
Twenty Hollywood Stars In One Picture
Mr. J. F. Boll on December 19th,
started hi* forty-first year in the
grocery busness in Milledgeville.
During these years he has conducted

Durante, Jack Pearl, Ed Wynn,
Jackie Cooper, Laurel and Hardy,
and Johnny Weissmuller in the cast.
The screen show is to be present
ed free of charge on the elaborate
J+ar projection I screen locked
aboard the traveling studio, and
film Jfcns of this city are invited to
witness the performance as the
guests of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer
company and the Cilonlal theatre.
It is scheduled to bo presented
protnt*ly at 6:80 I’eloek, and in
addition to the start listed above,
all of wnom are under contract to
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, many other
prominent screen players on the
M-G-M roster, will be eeen.

.\ketro-Gloldwyn-Mayer, the pro
ducers of many great pictures, had
this film made at the studios especi
ally for showing aboard their great
Traveling Motion Picture Studio.
In addition, while the screen pro
gram is being presented, film fans
will be permitted to enter the studio
to view the equipment which is used
in the projection of the pictures up
on the screen, and the operations
will be explained in detail by the
studio’s-chief projectionist.
The traveling studio, which is now
on a five year educational tour of
the world, was constructed by the
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer company at
a cost of 8160,000. It combines fadli
ties for both the filming and record
ing and sound pictures as well as
the projection of these pictures up
on the screen. Mid the sound equip
ment alone is valued at 160,000.
This equipment is to be opened for
inspection when the studio arrives
here, and may be viewed in front of
the Colonial theatre from 3:00 until
6:30 o'clock Friday, it is announced

remarks .presented Mr. J. C. Grant,
the retiring president of the class,
a gift of appreciation for the faith
ful and splendid service he had Ten
dered. during the number of years,
he had been at the head of the
class.

G. M. C. GRAMMAR GRADES
A splendid program of Christmas
soi4r° was given in the auditorium of
the G. M. ('. Grade Building during
Chapel exercises December 15th.
The singing was directed by Mrs.
Fred Porter. The program was as
follows:

Away In a Manger—First and
Second Grades.
I Saw Three Ships -Sailing—Miss
Lawrence's Pupils.
Come All Ye Faithful—Sung in
Latin by 8th Grade Non-cadet Class.
Then three hundred \oicos joined
in ringing the following carols:
Hark The Herald Angels Sing
O Little Town of Bethlehem
It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
Silent Night.
All the songs wero enjoyed by tho
audience and the carol in !at<n sung
by the pupils of Miss Brannon was
especially entertaining. The students
their teachers and Mrs. Porter ar*
to he congratulated for the delight
ful program.
