THE UNIONKECCMtDE*. MILLEOCEVILLE, GA.. F£MU*«riM*H
To tell you the truth, I think “the
boas’’ Is tryinjr to g«t rid of roe. I
don’t know whether it is because
of the New Deal and folks being cut
to work just so many hours a week
or not -but I have a sneaking idea
I’ve got to watch my atop.
And speaking of watching your
etep. Have you a bruised knee in
your home? There were certainly
some sTppery times in the old Home
Town for two days. I guess the Rob
ins think vre paid them a mean trick
for there was wightly little in eight
for them to pick on. Poor things! I
had one loaf of bread—I crumbled
it up as fine as I could and scatter
ed it out on a big space in the back
yard where they had been trying to
find even a sprig of grass—and
then watched them come back. There
were just a million. I counted them.
There were none here Saturday—so
they must have arrived late that af
ternoon. and I guess they wish they
had stayed where they were. Out on
fee front porch I watched them in
the holly tree. As I would appear—
pen before I pats out, but I*'
ready hinted about the brass band
'mooting roc at the depot so much un
til it has become kinder stale. Now
—I want a big birthday cake. You
needn’t mind about the monume.it—
I won’t be able to hear it (like 1
would the band) or taste ;t (like I
would the cake). So some fine day
when yours truly flags a train and
saves it from going into a broker,
bridge—there will be your chance.
Don’t over look it.
There’s lot- more I could talk
about—but just now I have other
fish to fry. See you next week—
maybe. If the boss doesn’t beat
to It by mailing me a “yellow slip’’
—which in the terms of the Gay
Ninety slang —means “Skidoo”—
“Scat—Get out—’’ and if you can’t
understand any of them maybe these
words will tell the tale—“You’ve
loot your job*'.
P. S. Of course, it doesn’t much
matter about my having come back
wife a cold that lasted me throe
weeks—during part of which time
apples and onions tasted the
