these that should prompt you to seek
medical advice.
New growths involving the fronta!

forgetfulness. When the temporal

Mr. Thos J. Roberts, of Augusta,
paid the Union-Recorder a visit
Memorial Day. Mr. Roberts is a son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. H.
Roberts and is a native of this city.
Since a former visit to Milledge-*
ville he has won the heart and hand
of a young lady of Augusta, who has
recently come in possession of city
and county property. Mr. Roberts
at this time is giving his time and
effort in looking after this property,

loss of sensation results. Tumors lo
cated in the back part of the brain
may give rise to imaginations of see
ing and these follows a limitation
6! one's visual range.
New growths located in the hind
brain interfere with co-ordination,
resulting in awkward movements of
the extremities—commonly a stag
gering, reeling gait. Growths in this
region are prone to give rise to
pressure symptoms earlier than in
anv other locations.
With the appearance of any of the
aforementioned symptoms your
physician should be consulted and
a careful examination made,
should be able to verify or dispel
any doubts relative to a posible
growth of the brain. ,
X-ray studies of the skull are help
ful, but it is to be remembered that
most brain tumors are soft tissue
growths and may not cast a shadow
the X-ray film. Special x-ray
methods are possible in locating a
new growth where medical examina
tion reveals the possibility without
any of the so called localizing symp
toms.
The treatment ot new growths of
the brain is entirely surgical, and up
on the type of growth depends the
method—whether removal, x-ray
treatment, on both. Effectual treat
ment of tumors of the brain, as of
cancer of other organs, depends upon
early diagnosis.
