Capt. J. H. Ennis is now a great
grandfather. He received
Wednesday morning that Mr. and
Mrs. Jimmy Hiatt, of Atlanta, were
the parents of a girl, bom Wednes
day morning Sept. 11th. Mrs. Hiatt
is remembered as Miss Marjorie
Ennis. __ _
Mr. F. B. Bruce and son, Mr. W.
H Bruce, of Savannah, spent the
week-end in Milledgeville visiting
Catherine Bruce who is a pati
ent in Scott Hospital here. Miss
Bruce is improving rapidly and will
on be able to return to her home

returned to the city after

from injuries in an automobile ac
cident and will have an apartment

Mr. Bayard Williams accompanied
her for a short visit.
Maj. Fred Thome, U. S. A., spent
several days of the past week with
his brother, Maj. Ren Thome. Maj.
Thorne is a member of the medical
corns of the United States army and
was enroute from the Canal Zone
to the Walter Reid Hospital near
Washington where he -will be sta
tioned for the next four years. The
visit of Maj. Thome gave the
brothers an opportunity to see each
other for the first time in fifteen
years-

CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY.
George Eslie Florence III cele
brated his third birthday with a
party at the homo of his parents.
Major and Mrs. G. E. Florence on
Er.nis Heights, Sept. 11th at four-
thirty o’clock.
The Florence home was attractive
decorated with beautiful pink
roses and large pink, blue and yel
low balloons added a festive note in
earring out the color scheme.
The little guests were greeted by
the little host who presented them
with crepe paper caps—Then the
children were invited to a large
pink and blue Jack Homer pie
from which they drew gifts tied in
yellow ribbon. After games were
played the guests were invited to
the dining room. The beautifully
appointed dining table was covered
with a lace cloth and had as a
ter piece a crystal bowl filled with
sweet heart roses and on each side
• silver candle holders with
rtak tapers. The birthday cake
beautifully embossed with t 5 ny pink
and blue flowers and three tiny
yellow candles were in the center.
The cake was placed on Eslie's lit
tle dining table where, he could cut
the cake for his guests.
Each place was marked by a bal-
