Hine’s hand-painted china. It was an array of beautiful work of art. A quilt that was placed on exhibi tion by Mrs. Jim Jones was made in 1830, by Mr. Jones mother. It was well preserved and very pretty. Mr. Jesse W. Scott placed the largest hog on the grounds. The porker was so fat that he could hardly walk. He will increase Mr. Scott's supply of lard and meat when he is killed. The two silk quilts which were awarded the premiums were made by two elderly ladies. Mrs. T. W. Turk and Mrs. M. A. Brantley. The work on them was executed great care. Mr. W. H. H. Barnes, who wi tacked and injured by his Jersey bull some time ago, has recovered, and is out again. Mrs. M. A. McCraw and Mrs. Adah Austin have been spending the past several days in New York attend ing the herse show. Miss Nora Cone has returned from a visit to thc Misses Edmonds' at Mcda. Col. Emmett Womack, of Washing ton city, is visiting his daughter, Mrs. E. R. Hines. Mrs. M. M. Parks spent last Wed nesday in Macon. Mrs. H. D. Allen ond little daugh ter visited Mrs. W. L. Proctor in Macon last week. The Merchants and Farmers Bank in a statement published elsewhere in this paper shows that the bank Is In a prosperous condition. It has on deposit $90,047.47.
